Kyaddala Season 2 to feature IUEA students

Kyaddala Season 2 is a world-class Ugandan television series that depicts real-life situations that students encounter while at University.

IUEA vice Chancellor, Dr. Emeka Akaezuwa, and resident director, Mr. Hassan Alwi, received the appreciation award on behalf of IUEA.

It is a typical portrait of what most young Ugandans go through while growing up, not forgetting unintended events, such as sexual abuse, early pregnancies, drugs, student-teacher relationships, and living with HIV.

According to the producers, Reach a Hand Uganda, the overall goal of Kyaddala, which translates from Luganda as “It’s Real,” is to communicate information about Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) through a series.

Humphrey Nabimanya, the executive producer of Kyaddala and the founder of Reach a Hand Uganda, believes that young people love entertainment and that the best way to speak to them is to use a common language that they will be able to understand, which is music, dance, and drama.

During the premiere event of the first episode at Mestil Hotel on Thursday 24th February, Humphrey Nabimanya extended his appreciation on behalf of Reach a Hand Uganda to everyone who contributed to the filming success in their various capacities, through awards.

“We couldn’t have finished filming Kyadala season two without the help of our partners”

Humphrey Nabimanya said

Among the partners who received this award was the International University of East Africa (IUEA). For the entire duration of the shoot, IUEA provided accommodation to the cast and crew. Over 40 students from IUEA also volunteered to participate in the narrative.

Kyaddala Season 2 will be aired on NBS TV, Netflix, Sauti Plus, and all Reach a Hand platforms beginning 4th March 2022.

Meanwhile, some IUEA students were spotted rocking the red carpet event which was held at Illusion Kampala. We did also witness the glitz and glamor of the Kyaddala Season 2 stars, such as Allan Toniks, Anita Fabiola, Brian Abaja from Kenya, Michael Tamale, and Harmony Kyomugisha Muhwezi, among others.
