Graduation day at IUEA usually encompasses a glorious display of events. From the academic procession, music, food to the brilliant fashion flaunts. However this year, it saddens us that we were unable to have the event in full capacity due to government regulations on numbers. None the less, the 7th graduation ceremony did not fall short of the usual oomph, color, and splendor.

At 10:00 am the mood was jubilant as the procession made its way to the 3Stoogies podium. The immaculately clad group consisted of the university vice-chancellor Dr. Emeka Akaizuwa, The Board of Trustees Chairperson Ambassador Moses Kiwe Sebunya, the proprietor Mr. Alwi Hassan, Resident Director Mr. Hassan Alwi, faculty heads, administrators, student representatives, and distinct members from the Ministry of Education and Sports. After the procession usher in, the Uganda national anthem and the East African Anthem were sung followed by Christian and Islamic prayers subsequently that saw all other events of the day commence.

The chancellor of the day Ambassador Moses Kiwe Sebunya- sitting in for chancellor Dr. Emmanuel Mutebile (who unfortunately couldn’t make it to the event) commenced the ceremony by thanking all guests present both on campus and those joining in virtually. “It is a graduation to remember because you have lived up to the university’s values- Being the technological university of choice.” He further congratulated the students upon their success even in the face of a global pandemic.
