The International University of East Africa (IUEA)’s law faculty excelled in the National Rounds of the Philip C. Jessup International Moot Court Competition<\/a>, the world\u2019s largest moot court contest. At the IUEA, we don\u2019t just teach; we empower students to excel on global platforms. This competition, held on January 17th and 18th, brought together the best law schools in Uganda, competing for a coveted spot at the international finals in Washington, DC. What is the Jessup Moot Court Competition?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Jessup Moot Court Competition is the world\u2019s biggest legal moot competition, bringing together over 700 law schools from more than 100 countries. It creates a fictional dispute between nations, argued before the International Court of Justice (ICJ), the judicial arm of the United Nations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each team prepares written pleadings, called memorials, and presents oral arguments for both sides of the case: the applicant and the respondent. This year\u2019s competition challenged participants with complex international legal scenarios.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who represented IUEA?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Representing IUEA were five exceptional students:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
