Many companies are spending billions to improve it. In this blog, we are proud to tell the story of Gael Ongoriko, a graduate of the International University of East Africa (IUEA), who is doing amazing work in this exciting field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Gael&#8217;s Journey at IUEA<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Gael has always loved technology. Refusing to compromise on his dream, he chose to <a href=\"https:\/\/iuea.ac.ug\/blog\/study-computer-science-at-iuea-thank-me-later\/\">study Computer Science<\/a> in Uganda at IUEA, the Technological University of Choice in Africa. That decision changed his life. With the help of IUEA, he has become one of the top young minds in technology in Africa. For example, a person can play a video game and feel like they are really inside the game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is part of a bigger group of technologies called Extended Reality (XR), which includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>VR (Virtual Reality):<\/strong> A full digital world you can enter.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>AR (Augmented Reality):<\/strong> Adds digital images to the real world.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>MR (Mixed Reality):<\/strong> Let&#8217;s you touch and interact with digital things in the real world.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Extended Reality market was worth over <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marketsandmarkets.com\/ResearchInsight\/augmented-virtual-reality-market-research.asp#:~:text=Market%20Overview,during%20the%202024%2D2029%20period.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">$22 billion in 2024<\/a> and is expected to grow to over <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marketsandmarkets.com\/ResearchInsight\/augmented-virtual-reality-market-research.asp#:~:text=Market%20Overview,during%20the%202024%2D2029%20period.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">$96 billion by 2029<\/a>. That means more jobs, more business, and more chances to earn money. With the help of IUEA, he created:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>A Smart Task Manager<\/strong> that helps schools run more easily.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>An AI Exam System<\/strong> that makes exams easier to create and grade.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Gael applied what he was learning in class to set himself up for success even before graduation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Building The First Virtual Reality Company in Uganda <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>After graduating, Gael worked with another IUEA student, Afrah Yasin, to start a company called Nyota Innovations. This is the first company in Uganda to focus on Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Mixed Reality, and Artificial Intelligence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nyota is helping many people by using technology in smart ways.
