After a rigorous voting session, IUEA emerged the winner of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gcic.go.ug\/uganda-science-innovators-awards\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&nbsp;Uganda Science and Innovators Award 2021<\/a>&nbsp; competition was hosted by the <strong>Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation under the office of the President of Uganda.<\/strong>&nbsp;(HE Yoweri Kaguta Museveni).&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>Objectives of the award<\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>To recognize outstanding innovators and innovations.<\/li><li>To earmark innovations for scaling up and commercialization purposes.<\/li><li>To create visibility of Ugandan capabilities in technology development and innovation.<\/li><li>To inspire Ugandans especially youth into technology development and innovation.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The competition featured three brilliant innovators with next-generation innovations in the 18+ mobility category. These included<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Edwin Agaba<\/strong> (IUEA)- The electric motorcycle<\/li><li><strong>Innocent Oriikiiriza<\/strong> \u2013Digital Ticketing System<\/li><li><strong>Ahereza Ian &amp;Nakiito Gloria Dorcus<\/strong> \u2013 Smart Remote Monitoring EV charging&nbsp;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>IUEA would like to thank all those who participated in the voting.
