Dear Freshman,

Relax.

I feel your excitement as I write you this letter.

It feels good, doesn’t it?

To graduate into the next chapter.

I’m not sure what school you went to,

But I am positive things are different.

No class from Monday to Friday/ Saturday, strictly from 8AM TO 3/ 5PM.

Nothing like preps.

Nothing like an assembly.

Little to no punishment.

High school.

High school is needy.

High School requires so much attention.

Dear Freshman,

Now,

You are adulting if not adulted.

You make your own choices.

You decide whether you want to go to class,

Or skip class.

You decide how long you want to sit in class for.

You decide how long you want to study.

It could be longer,

Or it could be shorter than the normal duration.

Dear Freshman,

You are FREE!

You are exposed.

You are curious.

You are tempted.

Exposure to new things.

The good, the bad, the ugly.

Dear Freshman,

Do you love yourself?

Are your needs the top priority?

Or the needs of others come before yours?

Others who you think are friends.

Others who you think are cool.

Others who you think are hip.

Dear Freshman,

Are they hip, cool and your friends?

Do they care?

Are they happy when you succeed?

Are they happy when you fail?

Yes yes,

You are an adult now.

You make your own choices.

Dear Freshman,

Are they the right choices?

What are your aspirations in life?

The rate of poverty keeps increasing.

Where would you like to fall?

Here is the cheat code,

Moderation.

We know,

Work without play…

We can’t be Jack.

Dear Freshman,

YOU COME FIRST!

Love yourself.

Want the best for yourself.

Dear Freshman,
This is your moment,

This is the determinant stage,

SHINE!

Shine in what you sow.

Then,

The rest follow.

Dear Freshman,
You are knowledgeable,

You are wise,

You are BEAUTIFUL.

Dear Freshman,

Welcome to this new chapter,

Uni.
