Dear IUEA students
Greetings to you and to your families. I am very happy that you are well and safe and also very happy to bring you good news about school reopening.
His Excellency, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni addressed the nation on 5th February 2021. In his speech, he stated that universities will reopen in a staggered manner starting 1st March 2021. This letter is to inform you that as per the President’s communication, IUEA will reopen for all beginning 1st March 2021.
After consultations, we have confirmed that some of you want to continue online and others want to engage in face-to-face instruction. This split works well for IUEA’s staggered reopening. For those of you who want to continue online, you do not have to do anything, your studies will continue uninterrupted. For those of you who want to do face-to-face studies, your respective faculties have already made plans for you and will be communicating to you through the various faculty communication groups. For those who are new and for those who are not in the faculty groups, you may contact your faculty directly:
- Faculty of Business: [email protected]
- Faculty of Engineering: [email protected]
- Faculty of Law: [email protected]
- Faculty of Science and Technology: [email protected]
- Higher Education: [email protected]
As is still the law, all students are required to observe Uganda Ministry of Health’s Covid-19 guidelines: wearing a mask at all times and maintaining social distancing in all facilities while on campus. And before entering the university, temperature checks are performed at the gates and hand sanitizer provided. Your classrooms, studios and laboratories have already been set for social distancing in anticipation of your return.
We are indeed happy that those of you who could not study online can resume your studies in a safe environment and to inform those of you studying online that your studies will continue uninterrupted.
On behalf of the University Board of Trustees, Council, Senate and Management, I thank you very much for your patience and support and look forward to seeing you continuing your studies.
Good luck and God bless.
Sincerely,
Emeka Akaezuwa, Ph.D. VC. IUEA
