Dean's Message

At the heart of our mission in the Faculty of Science and Technology is the commitment to offer courses that are not only relevant to today's rapidly evolving market and technological landscape but also pave the way for the future. As the leader of this faculty, my ambition is to steer us towards being the foremost faculty in our field.

Our programs are accredited by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE), a testament to our dedication to quality and excellence. We aim to be trailblazers in utilising Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to support and enhance our specialised curriculum delivery.

The motto of our Faculty of Science and Technology - “Knowledge”, “Skills”, and “Innovation” - underpins our goal to equip students with these three pillars, preparing them to contribute positively to society.

We envision a future where African youth, both men and women, are at the forefront of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. We see them playing pivotal roles in the digital age, shaping and defining our collective future.

Education is a fundamental right, serving not just as a means to an end but as an essential part of everyone's digital journey. We encourage young men and women to explore the vast opportunities within the ICT sector. This dynamic field is constantly evolving, offering careers that may not even exist today but will be crucial tomorrow.

Our society must do more to promote ICT, demonstrating how accessible it is to develop applications and ensuring young people understand their place in this future. Progress in areas like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Robotics is not just imminent; it's already happening.

The ICT sector is an exciting, dynamic, and expanding field, offering ample opportunities. Success in this sector isn't limited to academic degrees alone; critical thinking and practical skills play a significant role as well.

I wish you success in all your career endeavours. Seize the opportunities presented, contribute to, and be a part of our thriving digital future.
