The Bachelor of Public Administration at the Faculty of Business and Management of the International University of East Africa, is relevant to those who are interested in serving their respective governments as civil servants. It is designed to train and equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to enter into a successful and professional career as a public servant. The programme offers two specialisations in public sector management or local government and development. Key areas of the programme include general management and related disciplines such as local government management, public management and public law. Students will learn important leadership and personal and organisational management skills, communication skills, business and organisational analysis skills, knowledge of local and national government issues, public law, and ICT skills. The programme integrates academic and research rigor with a focus on emerging trends and issues in public administration from a regional and international perspective as well as informing graduates of the high standards of professionalism and ethics of a career in public administration.
Attending the Faculty of Business and Management qualifies one for an array of leadership positions and other advanced roles in private, public and nonprofit organizations. You’ll have the option to work across industries as a business analyst, human resources generalist, operations manager or marketing specialist. Some business administration graduates also venture into entrepreneurship, creating their own successful businesses from the ground up.
