Tourism is the back bone of many economies including Uganda. Hence, the Bachelor of Tourism Operations and Management degree of the Faculty of Business and Management at the International University of East Africa aims at producing highly, but broadly inter-disciplinary oriented professionals in aspects of tourism and hospitality planning, development and management. The programme emphasizes; problem-based; project oriented; work-based and practical/field based learning. After completion of the training, the tourism and hospitality management graduates will be equipped with competencies (knowledge, skills and attitudes) in planning, development and management of tourism, leisure and recreation resources in ways that enhance sustainable tourism and general development. The target will be to produce tourism graduates that are consciously and attitudinally oriented to practical, field, development and extension tourism work.
Attending the Faculty of Business and Management qualifies one for an array of leadership positions and other advanced roles in private, public and nonprofit organizations. You’ll have the option to work across industries as a business analyst, human resources generalist, operations manager or marketing specialist. Some business administration graduates also venture into entrepreneurship, creating their own successful businesses from the ground up.
