Who is Prince Kassim Nakibinge?
Prince Kassim Nakibinge is a businessman and bank Executive in Uganda. He is the managing director and Chief Executive of Cairo International Bank, a commercial bank in Uganda. He was admitted to the United States International University in San Diego, California to study business administration, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in business administration.
He later pursued postgraduate education at the University of Wales in Cardiff, graduating with a Master of Business Administration degree, majoring in finance. In 2014, the University of Lahore in Pakistan bestowed upon him an honorary Doctor of Philosophy degree in recognition of his contribution to the promotion of the education of Muslims in Uganda.
During the Prince’s tour of the IUEA Campus
In the course of his visit, Prince Kassim engaged in a series of informative sessions with the board of trustees, students, faculty, and staff. He took a comprehensive tour of the University’s facilities, including the Innovation Labs, where he had the opportunity to interact with the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and some exceptionally talented architecture students who presented some of their latest cutting-edge creations.

Scholarships awarded to the Prince
During his visit, Prince Kassim was awarded five scholarships by the International University of East Africa, specifically for students from his Kingdom. This act of generosity exemplified the Prince’s unwavering dedication to education and his vision of empowering the younger generation to thrive. It is a testament to his strong commitment to investing in education as a means of fostering progress and building a brighter future for all. This is not the first time that IUEA has done something of the sort, as it is known that the University previously awarded Full Scholarships to the Government of South Sudan as well as 5 Full Scholarships to the Republic of Somalia.
Overall, the visit of Prince Kassim to the International University of East Africa was an enriching and inspiring experience for all involved. His visit reinforced the University’s commitment to promoting sustainable development in Africa through education, innovation, and entrepreneurship. The university community looks forward to continuing to engage with Prince Kassim and other prominent figures in promoting sustainable development in Africa.
