Who is Davido?

David Adedeji Adeleke OON, better known by his stage name Davido, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, record producer and philanthropist. He is regarded as one of the most influential Afrobeats artists of the modern era, alongside Wizkid and Burna Boy. What does Davido have to do with education?

Moreover, I am thrilled to highlight Davido’s philanthropic endeavours, particularly his support for underprivileged children by paying their school fees. This commitment resonates deeply with IUEA’s motto, “learning to succeed”, as we believe in providing opportunities for all to excel, regardless of their background

– Said Sheila Ombogo, the Head of Marketing for IUEA

Davido stands out not only for his groundbreaking music but also for his philanthropic efforts, especially in education. His support for underprivileged children by covering their educational expenses aligns with IUEA’s mission to make quality education accessible to all.

Madam Natasha Sonnet expresses heartfelt gratitude to all attendees of the event.

Davido’s innovative use of Afrobeats has solidified his position as a leading figure in the music industry, inspiring many and fostering a spirit of innovation across the continent. This resonates deeply with IUEA’s culture of innovation.

Davido’s music promotes unity and cross-cultural understanding, resonating with IUEA’s commitment to diversity and harmony. He has aided in the popularisation of unity by helping popularise afrobeats, promoting the beauty of the African continent and culture worldwide. This perfectly aligns with our endeavour to promote unity as evident with our annual cultural gala, the most recent of which showcased performances from 12 nationalities across Africa, only outdone by this year’s which is set to have 13 nationalities.

Professor Emeka Akaezuwa, Vice Chancellor of IUEA, immerses himself in the joyous atmosphere of the event.

During the event, Eastern Vibes Ltd announced that henceforth, IUEA students will be given a substantial discount if they choose to record with Eastern Vibes, enabling IUEA to further nurture talents outside academia. The partnership also opens up exciting opportunities for IUEA students, including exclusive discounts on concert tickets and other events. This initiative is a testament to IUEA’s dedication to enhancing the student experience by integrating academic and extracurricular interests.

Professor Emeka Akaezuwa graciously acknowledges the support of IUEA’s esteemed partners.

When is Davido coming to Kampala?

On March 28th, 2024, IUEA is privileged to welcome Davido, escorting him from the airport directly to our scenic campus in Kansanga, along Ggaba Road, for a press conference. Our selection of the IUEA auditorium as the venue is no doubt due to its stunning architecture and exceptional acoustics, standing as the ideal setting for this prestigious event. Titled “A One on One with Davido,” this gathering promises an intimate and engaging experience, offering both the media and devoted fans an unparalleled opportunity to interact with the music icon.

A memorable moment captured as Professor Emeka Akaezuwa, Mr. IUEA Michael Junior Musimenta, Mr. Constantine Kagu of the Electoral Commission, and Musa Solomon, Minister of Social Affairs, come together for a commemorative photo.

When is the Davido concert in Kampala?

Davido is poised to captivate audiences once again with his “Timeless” concert in Kampala, scheduled for March 29th, 2024, at the esteemed Kololo Independence Grounds. This venue, steeped in Uganda’s rich history and earmarked for events such as the National Council of Higher Education’s 20th anniversary, underscores the monumental nature of the event. This is not the first time the icon is gracing Uganda with his presence, his talent last dazzled Ugandan audiences in 2019 on January 1, 2019, at the 30 Billion concert at the Pearl of Africa Hotel, making for an unforgettable beginning to that year. This explains the nail-biting anticipation with which we await the timeless concert.

Mr. Yak Haile, President of the IUEA Students’ Guild, extends his heartfelt appreciation to the guests present at the event.

How do I get tickets for the concert?

Tickets for this once-in-a-lifetime concert are available via a QR code, with various options catering to different preferences:
