What is UACE?

In Uganda, the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) is awarded to students upon completion of the two-year upper secondary school. This certification is equivalent to the General Certificate of Education Advanced Level (GCE A-Level) in other countries. The examinations for the UACE are administered by the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB).

How to get UACE 2022 results?

On your mobile phone, go to the ‘Message’ menu and type UACE, leave space, then type the correct index number of the candidate; e.g. U0000/001. Send to 6600 on the MTN and AIRTEL networks.

According to the available data, a total of 97,890 candidates registered for the 2022 UACE exam from 1.969 centres, 40,713 of them being female and the remainder being male. Therefore as specified by the above numbers, female candidates are fewer than male candidates but in spite of that, the female candidates performed better than their male counterparts did.

“The females who got three principal passes are 48.6% compared to 40.1% for males.”

– Said Mr Dan Odongo, UNEB Secretary.

At the minimum two principal levels required for university admission, 67,815 (70.3%) qualify. Additionally, results released by the office of the Prime Minister (OPM) indicate that “the overall candidates’ performance in the 2022 UACE examinations registered a very high percentage of candidates (99.2%) who qualified for the award of the UACE.

“In cases where one principal and two subsidiary pass levels are considered for admission to other tertiary institutions, 89.3% of the candidates will qualify,”

-Said Mr Dan Odongo, Executive Secretary UNEB.

We would like to extend our sincerest congratulations to all those who have passed the exam. Your hard work and dedication have paid off!
