“Several years ago, I dropped out of university… It was to change from computer science in Uganda to go to do animation in Malaysia. With all the awards and fame, the money still wasn’t quite coming in the way it was supposed to.”
Mr Raymond Malinga is the CEO of Creatures Animation studio based in Kampala. He directed a short animated film “A Kalabanda Ate my Homework” that was selected in the Festival De Cannes Short Film Corner 2018 as well as winning multiple awards around the world.
His graduation short film White Collar Time (2014) earned him several accolades in several International student film award competitions. He worked on hit animated Malaysian Series Ejen Ali for Wau Animation Studio as an Animator, Screenwriter and Concept Developer.
In 2014 he decided to quit his job and return to start his journey towards making an impact on the local and continental animation industry in Africa by starting Creatures Animation Studio.
